I Can't retire on $600 a month.
It's 5:30 am, time to get up and go to work. Take a shower, brush your teeth, kiss the wife and kids goodbye and head off to the one place where you can honestly say you don't want to be. It's a quick stop at 711 for the morning coffee where the retired couple is holding up the line while they argue whether they can't afford it or not and buy those lottery tickets. Why not,I muse. Then I begin to wonder, will that be me in thirty years? Will I be relying on the lottery to sustain my hopes and dreams of a better life. There's always Social Security right? Yea I guess I can make it work on $600 a month. I'll have to give up the house in the Caribbean and the 500sl but $600 should cover it. $600, I can't feed my family on that. Lets think, I have a good job. I am a midlevel manager I bring home $1,000 a week. Ok, if I figure all my expenses and subtract that from my net income that leaves me with uhhh about ummm nothing!! How can I retire if I don't have anything to retire with. I got it, I will be able to sell the house and with the profit I can get a small house in Florida and watch the manatees' try and avoid the propellers from the over extended 30 something's mortgaged up to their eyeballs.
Great, so I sell the house, pay off the first and second mortgage, not bad, I can make it work. I have $32,000 left over to buy that dream trailer in Florida. Wait, wasn't that supposed to be a house? That won't do it. Ok, how about an apartment? I got enough for the security, the first months rent, I'll ship the furniture down, pay off the last of the creditors, replace the brakes on the car. Damn, I forgot about taxes. Ok let's see after all the expenses I should walk away with a cool $900. If I add that to my $600 I'm sitting pretty. Hey I almost forgot that retirement plan I had at work. lets see 30 years invested. I probably shouldn't have been so aggressive because the stock market tanked, the real estate market tanked and I would have been better off putting it under my mattress. But there it is, another $400 a month. At this rate there's no way I can afford to retire. Think, think, what can I do.
Then I remembered. I saw Charlie the other day. He drove up in a new 5oosl. Trying not to look envious I asked how he was doing. Great, he said. I could see that by the fact he was wearing sweat pants and obviously not on his way to work. What are you up to , I asked. With the continued growth of the computer age, there is a whole new way of marketing a business. Especially for businesses who perform most of their transactions online. When reaching for online customers, internet marketing becomes the main target for your marketing efforts as it will attract the customers in your demographic – online users.
There are two distinct styles for online marketing, one is business marketing, the other is website marketing. With web site marketing the goal is to have people searching for particular services or products find your web site while conducting an online search through the major search engines. There are many facets involved in web site marketing and once a business is able to get them all clicking together, there is a good chance they will experience a major influx of new visitors to their web site.
On the other side are businesses that heavily promote their availability aimed at the internet users more so than the search engines. Buying internet advertisements, sending out emails and other promotional marketing materials that are designed to bring visitors to their online web sites, are just a few of the online marketing strategies being used today.
One of the things to remember with online marketing is to consider your home page as a billboard along the side of the road. If there is little traffic along the road, there will be few people who will see your billboard so your efforts should be focused on getting people on the right road. Looking at it from another perspective, there may be over a thousand people selling a certain brand of personal care items and they all have a web site, many provided free when they signed up and they all look alike and have the same enhancements.
If a person searches for the brand by name, there is no telling whose web site is going to pop up in the search results. If you own one of these thousands of sites, specific marketing will need to be done to guide that potential traffic to the site you own. To do this you can use pay-per-click advertising that you pay for based on the number of visitors who click through to your site.
Affiliate marketing is also a popular method of bringing visitors to your site. As a business, you agree to pay a certain percentage or dollar amount of a sale to another site, an affiliate, who drives the traffic to you. Essentially, you are gaining free advertising and only pay for it if your site makes a sale. While some link exchange programs have been successful in the past, having thousands of unrelated links to your site may turn search engines against you and lose your information from their engines and as a result from their results pages.

Make the Leap to Affiliate Marketing Success by Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy
If you are going to become a successful affiliate on the Internet, you need 3 "intangibles." These are things that must come from WITHIN you.
===> Intangible 1 <===
First, you must have a strong WHY.
Why must you make affiliate marketing work? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?
For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in this business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.
If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to make money with affiliate programs or make your living on the Internet, you won't. It's that simple.
For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money online. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.
There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money online with affiliate programs. Just get online and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money online with affiliate programs.
I've always said that "affiliate marketing" is the job of the future. In the "old" days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn from the outside... You have to be IN THE RING to truly understand it.
The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start an affiliate marketing business. You simply have to start one. This is what I call "Making the Leap."
The good news is that the cost of failure on the Internet is very small. In the "brick and mortar" world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It's almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a successful business for less than $100. As profitable home-based businesses become more popular you can rest assured that for every one there is a scam artist waiting to pounce on the inexperienced novice entrepeneaur. These scam artists will create twin sites that are so professionally done as to fool even some of the most seasoned veterans. Personal information, banking information and even cash are fradulently stolen and distributed among an underground network of scam artists,copy cats and hackers.There are too many people that believe this can't happen to them and wind up as just another statistic.
Keeping informed and using a little common sense will go a long way to helping you secure your place among the many people on-line that are making money from legitimate business opportunities. It would turn your stomach to see that opportunities such as online surveys, government grants, mystery shoppers and data entry clerk opportunities mimicked to lure the unsuspecting investor.These opportunites that were once available can now be the cause for alarm and red flags when searching the internet looking for business ventures.
The unfortunate victims of these scam artists lured by the appeal of working from home have their dreams and bank accounts crushed. And once this happens you would be hard pressed to try and convince them that there are real legitimate home-based business opportunities available on the net. When providing credit card information make sure that the site you are connected to has as its prefix HTTPS://. This indicates a secure site, but still be cautious and do your research.
*Don't send checks or other payments prior to receiving information from the company verifying the agreements being made.
*Search for details of a business through the Better Business Bureau. This can be an invaluable resourse and will help keep your mind at ease.
Prevention and knowledge will be the key to protecting yourself and loved ones when searching for online business opportunities. Even though the Internet is a useful tool for starting a home-based business it is also a portal for theives, scam artists and other online predators. If we don't take the neccessary precautions the instances of fraud and the number of scam victims will continue to increase and the Internet will become an even greater threat to our personal well-being. Arm yourself and find out as much as you can about these Internet scams and help to promote awareness through online forums and word of mouth. Through education and compassion for our fellow man we can help to minimize the risk these predators represent to our online and offline activities.

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work
from home and make money on the Internet. But
before you even turn on your computer, the first
question you have to ask yourself is whether

The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t
for everyone. Some people like the commute. They
really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what
to do, and they like the routine of working
nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can
barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think
they’re nuts.
More reasonably, there are people who are
concerned about the risk of starting up their own
business. They’re not sure it’s worth the
investment of time and money, and they’re scared
of the responsibility that comes with running
their own company. They wonder if there is
another way to escape the rat race.
I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or
wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you
her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen
and paper and draw the blueprint for "The Next
Big Thing". Anything can happen... Right?
For me, what happened was creating a successful,
self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t
happen without effort. It didn’t happen without
at least some initial investment of both time and
money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now
without me making sure that the taxes are filed
and the paperwork is done. But it happened.
I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my
own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my
business makes. If you’re prepared to give an
e-business the time, the work and the money it
needs to get started and get growing, it can
happen for you too.
